Many terraced properties and some semi-detached properties were originally supplied with water through a common supply pipe system. A common supply pipe is a pipe that transports water from the mains supply via one common stopcock to two or more properties.

Properties having changed from a common supply to a separate supply may still require the branch removing that originally connected to that property. Pipetracks are able to trace, locate and remove the branch to meet current Water Authority regulations.
